Charging the Li-ion Battery
- For charging, use the recommended USB power supply unit or a USB power supply unit whose output voltage and minimum output current comply with the requirements in the "Technical Data" section. Observe the operating manual of the USB power supply unit. Recommended power supply unit: See "Technical Data".
- Pay attention to the mains voltage. The voltage of the power source must match the voltage specified on the rating plate of the power adaptor. Power adaptors marked with 230 V can also be operated with 220 V.
- Lithium-ion rechargeable batteries are supplied partially charged according to international transport regulations. To ensure full rechargeable battery capacity, fully charge the rechargeable battery before using your tool for the first time.
The USB port (18) for connecting the USB cable (27) is located under the flap of the stop pin (8).
- To open the flap, press the release button (7).
- Connect the measuring tool to the power supply using the USB cable (27) provided.
- Insert the power supply into the plug socket.
- The charging process begins.
The lithium-ion rechargeable battery can be charged at any time without reducing its service life. Interrupting the charging process does not damage the rechargeable battery.
A long battery runtime is achieved by means of energy-saving measures, such as deactivating the Bluetooth® function when not required, reducing the display brightness, etc.
During charging, an animation displays the charging progress. If this animation is no longer being displayed, the battery is fully charged.
Switch the measuring tool off to speed up the charging process.
When the empty battery symbol first appears on the display, only a limited number of measurements are still possible.
When the battery symbol is empty and flashes red, no further measurements are possible. Replace the batteries or rechargeable batteries.
The measuring tool can only continue to be used for a short time (e.g. to check entries in the list of measured values). Recharge the rechargeable battery.
If not used for a long time, disconnect the power supply from the mains supply.
In addition, the rechargeable battery can also be recharged at a USB port. To do so, connect the measuring tool to a USB port with the USB cable (27). In USB operation (charging mode, data transfer), charging time can be considerably increased.
The measuring tool cannot be used independently during the charging process.
- Bluetooth® switches off during the charging process. Existing connections with other tools are interrupted. Data can get lost here.
Recommendations for optimal handling of the rechargeable battery in the measuring tool
Only charge the measuring tool in the permissible temperature range, see Technical data As an example, do not leave the measuring tool in a vehicle during the summer.
A significantly reduced operating time after charging indicates that the battery has deteriorated and must be replaced by the Bosch after-sales service.
Follow the instructions on correct disposal.
