Basic Settings Menu

In the Basic settings menu, you can find the following basic settings:

  • Favourites function
  • Changing the reference level  see Selecting the Reference Level
  • Switching audio signals on and off
  • Switching the display illumination on and off
  • Switching on and off battery saver mode
  • Changing the unit of measurement
  • Switching on and off vibration (GLM 50-25 G)
  • Setting the language
  • Calling up Device Information
  • Factory settings
  • Internal memory
  • Calibration of the grade measurement  see Accuracy Check (GLM 50-23 G)
  1. Press the  button to open the Basic settings menu.
  2. Use the  button or  button to select the required setting.
  3. To confirm a selection, press the  button or the button.
  4. To exit the Basic settings menu, briefly press the  button.

A preferred measuring function or setting can be put on the  button for quick access.

There are three options for using the  button:

In the Basic settings menu:

  1. Press the  button.
  2. Select .
  3. To change the selection, press the  button or the button.
  4. To confirm the selection, press the  button or the button.

or

While the measuring tool is being operated in a measuring function:

  1. Press and hold the  button.
  2. To change the selection, press the  button or the button.
  3. To confirm the selection, press the  button or the button.

or

In the Functions menu or in the Basic settings menu:

  1. Use the  button or the  button to select your preferred measuring function or setting.
  2. To make the selection, press and hold the  button.

To retrieve the set favourite, briefly press the  button.
In the Factory settings, the  button is used to select the reference level.

The sound is switched on by default.

  1. Press the  button to call up the Basic settings menu.
  2. Select .
  3. To change the selection, press the  button or the button.
  4. To confirm the selection, press the  button or the button.
  5. To exit the Basic settings menu, briefly press the  button.

The vibration function is switched on by default.

The vibration function of the measuring tool can be a useful aid, for example in noisy environments. Two short vibrations indicate a successful measurement; one long vibration indicates a measurement error.

The brightness of the display can be adjusted to the environmental conditions with several settings.

  1. Press the  button to call up the Basic settings menu.
  2. Select .

  4. To confirm the selection, press the  button or the button.
  5. To exit the Basic settings menu, briefly press the  button.

Battery saver mode is switched off by default. When battery saver mode is switched on, sound and vibration are deactivated and the display brightness is reduced. This extends the battery runtime.

  1. Press the  button to call up the Basic settings menu.
  2. Select .

  4. To confirm the selection, press the  button or the button.
  5. To exit the Basic settings menu, briefly press the  button.

Basic setting is the unit of measurement "m" (metres). Six different units of measurement are available. Set the appropriate unit of measurement for your purposes.

  5. To exit the Basic settings menu, briefly press the button

When switching on the measuring tool for the first time, you will be prompted to set your preferred language for the display text.

You can change the selected language at any time.

  1. Press the  button to call up the Basic settings menu.
  2. Select for further settings.
  3. Select .
  4. To change the selection, press the  button or the button.
  5. To confirm the selection, press the  button or the button.
  6. To exit the Basic settings menu, briefly press the  button.

Here you will find information about the measuring tool, such as the serial number, software version and licences.

  1. Press the  button to call up the Basic settings menu.
  2. Select for further settings.
  3. Select .
  4. To exit the Basic settings menu, briefly press the  button.

This function is used to reset the measuring tool to factory settings. After carrying out a reset, you will be prompted to set your preferred language for the display.

  1. Press the  button to call up the Basic settings menu.
  2. Select for further settings.
  3. Select .
  4. To reset the measuring tool, select and confirm with the  button or the  button.
  5. To exit the Basic settings menu, briefly press the  button.

  1. Press the  button to call up the Basic settings menu.
  2. Select for further settings.
  3. Select .
  4. To delete the memory, select with the button or with the button and confirm with the  button or the  button.
  5. All measured values are deleted.
