Securing the Power Tool Against Falling (see figure J)
If you are working in an elevated position, secure the power tool against falling. To do this, use a fall protection system (12) suitable for the total weight with a length of no more than 1.8 m (commercially available, preferably with webbing slings to be secured using an anchor knot or a fall protection system with fall damper). Consult the operating instructions for the fall protection system.
Fasten one side of the fall protection system (12) to the power tool in the permissible attachment area (13).
Fasten the other side of the fall protection system (12) to a fixed attachment point (11) on a stable structure (e.g. building or scaffolding). Choose an attachment point such that the power tool can move freely in the fall protection system in the event of a fall without unwinding or putting anyone at risk.
- Always fasten the fall protection system to a stable structure and not to a person.
- The power tool must be able to move freely at all times between the attachments on the fixed attachment point and on the power tool.
