Fitting Protective Equipment

Note: If the grinding disc breaks during operation or the holding fixtures on the protective guard/power tool become damaged, the power tool must be sent to the after-sales service immediately; see the "After-Sales Service and Application Service" section for addresses.

Open the clamping lever (8). Place the protective guard (6) with the coding cam (7) engaging into the coding groove on the spindle collar until the shoulder of the protective guard is seated against the flange of the power tool, and turn the protective guard (6) to the required position. Close the clamping lever (8).

  • Adjust the protective guard (6) such that sparking in the direction of the operator is prevented.

The tensioning force of the clamp from the protective guard (6) can be changed by loosening or tightening the adjustment screw (9). Ensure that the protective guard (6) is fitted securely and check it regularly.

Note: The coding cams on the protective guard (6) ensure that only a protective guard that is suitable for the power tool can be fitted.

Place the protective guard (33) on the spindle collar. Adjust the position of the protective guard (33) to the requirements of the operation and lock the protective guard (33) with the locking screw (32).

  • Adjust the protective guard (33) such that sparking in the direction of the operator is prevented.

  • Provide sufficient dust extraction when cutting stone.

The protective guard for cutting (34)/(16) is fitted in the same way as the protective guard for grinding with a locking screw (33) or the protective guard for grinding with a clamping lever (6).

  • For cutting, always use the protective guard for cutting (34)/(16) or the protective guard for grinding (33)/(6) together with the cover for cutting (27).

Cover for cutting

Fit the cover for cutting (27) on the protective guard for grinding (6)/(33) (see figure A/D): Swivel the lever back (➊). Attach the cover (27) to the protective guard for grinding (6)/(33) (➋). Press the lever firmly into place again on the protective guard (6)/(33) (➌).
To remove the cover (see figure B/E), swivel the lever back (➊). Remove the cover (27) from the protective guard (6)/(33) (➋).

Place the extraction guard for cutting with a cutting guide (21)/(35) on the spindle collar. Adjust the position of the extraction guard (21)/(35) to meet the requirements of the operation. Secure the extraction guard (21)/(35) with the locking screw. A suitable Bosch dust extractor can be connected to the extraction guard for cutting with a cutting guide (21)/(35). To do so, insert the vacuum hose with dust extraction adapter into the provided receiving connection of the extraction guard.

  • Always fit the hand guard (22) when working with the rubber sanding pad (23) or with the cup brush/conical brush/diamond annular cutter.

Attach the hand guard (22) to the auxiliary handle (4)/(31).

Screw the auxiliary handle (4)/(31) on the right or left of the machine head depending on the working method.

  • Do not operate your power tool without the auxiliary handle (4)/(31).
  • Do not continue to use the power tool if the auxiliary handle (4)/(31) is damaged. Do not make any alterations to the auxiliary handle (4)/(31).

The low-vibration auxiliary handle (31) reduces vibration, enabling the tool to be used safely and more comfortably.
