This is the application that sends the most silica dust flying into the air. Cutting concrete or other types of quartz minerals such as brick or stone produces a huge amount of silica dust, one of most common and hazardous dust types in trade work. Up to 100x smaller than a grain of sand, silica dust particles are so light, they can stay in the air for up to 12hours in still conditions. Many workers unknowingly breathe it in. In the long term, this can lead to major health issues, such as silicosis (the scarring and stiffening of the lungs).
The best way to control dust is to stop it from getting into the air. That's why we designed our cutting dust attachments to:
- Fit seamlessly on your angle grinders
- Don't get in the way of work
- Capture dust at the cutting point
